It’s a fact – 98% of men want ripped abs. OK, so I just pulled that number out of thin air, but it has to be a percentage in the high nineties. Whatever the reason you have for getting a six pack – pick up more girls, higher self esteem or a sense of achievement - it’s likely that you don’t want to wait years to get it! Of course, to get the abs you’ve always dreamed of it will require work, but the good news is it doesn’t have to take a long time. Here’s how to get a six pack fast.

Getting A Six Pack Fast Isn’t All About Crunches

First of all, no matter how toned and strong your abs are if they won’t show through a layer of fat. You need to burn fat, and fast. That means that doing sit-ups, crunches, and all the other exercises for your stomach muscles will all be a waste of time if you’re overweight. You can’t “spot train” the fat off a certain area of the body, so the only option is to eat more healthily and exercise more. Jogging, swimming, cycling are all great ways of burning calories to get a flat stomach. Not only that, but it’ll help you to become generally more healthy. Combine this with healthy eating and you’ll have a flat stomach in no time. Think of this as your blank canvas, which you’ll now be able to “paint” your six pack onto. It’s important to remember that this might not mean you actually lose weight, but instead you may replace the fat with muscle.

Building Abs

Your ab muscles require a work out to get stronger and hence bigger just like any other muscle in the body. Here are some great ab exercises, but remember these build your muscle but DON’T burn calories. That’s what the other exercise is for.

The Sit-up
The chances are, you’ve heard of the sit-up, but are doing it completely wrong. Here’s how to do it right.

1. Lie on your back
2. Bend your knees to a 90 degree angle, with your feet flat on the ground.
3. Put your arms at your sides, but slightly off the floor
4. Raise your upper body off the floor in a smooth and fluid motion.
5. Go back down in the same manner

Remember, you’re trying to work your stomach muscles not your neck! Don’t pull up with your neck, you could cause serious damage.

Crunches
Again, you may have heard of these, but you’re probably doing them wrong. Crunches are really just a variation on the sit-up but are generally more physically demanding. Here’s how to do them to get your six pack quick.

1. Lie on your back with arms crossed
2. Bend your knees up
3. Put your arms by your side
4. Pull your abs in while breathing out
5. Lift up your shoulders towards the knees
6. Hold for a second, then lay back down slowly and smoothly while breathing in

Trust me, the breathing really does make a big difference, so practice it until you’re comfortable.

Leg Lifts
This one’s a little different, but still effective. It’s also very simple!

1. Lie on the floor with your legs straight
2. Lift your legs to a 90 degree angle WITHOUT bending them.
3. Lower your legs, then repeat. Don’t let your legs touch the ground in between

Pulling it all together….

Work out a routine that keeps you motivated to keep going. You need a mixture of fat burning, muscle building and healthy eating if you want to be successful.

  1. hey how is it going , i am 13 about to turn 14 years old and i am starting to notice guys who have six packs get way more girls than flat stomach guys so i started wondering how cool it would be to have a six pack with all the girls wanting to touch it . so i was woundering , is it alright for a kid like me to try and get a six pack?
